• Hepatitis C is a virus that causes inflammation of the liver.
• You contract it through blood contact, such as during unsafe sex or sharing needles.
• Hepatitis B becomes chronic in 80% of cases. Chronic hepatitis C can lead to cirrhosis of the liver or even liver cancer.
• Unfortunately, hepatitis C is nowadays easily treatable and in many cases completely curable with medication.
• Testing is important, especially if you have been at risk through sex or blood contact.
