Why is testing through Soapoli-online cheaper?
If you test through your primary care doctor, the costs incurred by the laboratory for the analysis will be reimbursed through your health insurance. Most health insurance companies do not reimburse laboratory analysis if you have not used up your deductible yet, so the full cost goes directly from your deductible. The costs sent to your health insurance company by the laboratory are often much higher than when you test through Soapoli-online. For example, an STI test for chlamydia through Soapoli-online costs 34.95 euros. Through your health insurance the amount is often around 50 euros. So the cost of an STI test through your health insurance company is usually 15 euros more expensive than an STI test through Soapoli-online.In the Netherlands, we have the so-called NZa rates. The NZa sets the maximum rates based on periodic cost investigations. The laboratory uses these prices and passes them on to the patient when the GP requests your test.
