What does an STI test cost?
If you test through the GGD because you are in a high-risk group, then STI testing is free. If you're not in this target group or if it's too busy at the GGD then you can test at your doctor's or at Soapoli-online.

The primary care doctor is the first-line provider. So, most people make an appointment for their STI test there. In the consultation (which is free), the doctor discusses your risk and recommends what to test for. You'll be given a lab form for a blood test or this can be done at the practice itself. The lab costs for the analysis will be deducted from your deductible. Always ask in advance what costs to expect, to avoid unpleasant surprises later.
In 2022 your deductible is 385 euros, if you have not used this amount yet, the costs for an STI test will be deducted from it. This means that you pay the first 385 euros of healthcare costs yourself. The coverage of subsequent costs depends on your health insurance.
