What is PrEP?
PrEP is a pill that prevents you from contracting HIV infection. It is a safe and effective medication, which has been scientifically proven.

From when does PrEP protect you from HIV?
When starting daily PrEP, after 5 to 7 days a person is protected againsthiv when it comes to anal exposure. If a person wants to be protected immediately, it is wise to start with two pills at the same time, following PrEP's schedule around sex (intermittent use). In that case, a person is protected as early as 2 hours after ingestion.For vaginal exposure, daily PrEP at least 7 days ofin advance should have started, because of the less rapid accumulation of active metabolites in the tissues of the female genital tract. Thus, this also applies to trans men who have sex through their vagina.
To quit safely, the advice is to, after anal exposure,at least 2 days continuing with PrEP. After vaginal exposure isat least 7 days.

How does PrEP clinic work?
- Order your starter kit directly from the webshop: at the start, we need some information from you: you fill out a medical questionnaire online. Then there is contact with the PrEP expert via email or, if you wish, by phone to discuss any ambiguities and provide you with the information you need.
- Perform the control tests at home: Following national guidelines, you first perform a number of test checks. Your order will be delivered in a discreet package, easy to take off yourself with comprehensive instructions.
- Send your samples to our lab for free: The reliability of the analysis is the same as testing through the GP or GGD.
- Receive your PrEP prescription: Once all the results are in, our concerned GP will write your prescription for 30 or 90 tablets.
