Want a quick answer about your HIV status? The Atomo HIV self-test is a CE marked IVD self-test (CE 2797) that you can easily take at home. The test gives clear results within 15 minutes and is designed for use by people without a medical background.
This test is intended as initial screening. Medical decisions should only be taken in consultation with a physician.
The Atomo HIV self-test can be used reliably from 12 weeks after possible exposure to HIV. Under laboratory conditions, the test has a reliability of 99.6%. For first-time users, reliability is slightly lower: 95.2% for negative and 94.3% for positive results.
Please note that if the test is used in the first weeks after a possible exposure (the window period) it may give a false negative result. So we recommend testing after 12 weeks for a reliable result. If you test earlier than this, it's recommended to repeat the test after the window period.

What if the test is positive (reactive)?
A positive (reactive) result does not automatically mean that you have HIV. Always contact a doctor or HIV treatment center for follow-up testing. We will be happy to help you with advice and referral to the right health care provider. Send us a picture of your result and we will send you a control lab test when 2 bars are visible. We will also be in touch by phone to guide you.
